ONE IDEA ril PC Tomorrow's game will be played tomorrow. For that reason, it is a U bit difficult to tell the outcome today. Simple. Therefore, let's talk about those things of which we are sure, and see how they bear on the B tilt. B thi For one thing, we know that the Gamecocks have been practising A since the first of the month under Rex Enright, pointing to this game th and an entire schedule of like competition. We also know that their 6' number has been reduced by draft and graduation until now the squad C numbers 29 players and a coaching staff. This loss of players, harmful though it may be, may have its com- te pensating effect. It can unify the remaining Gamecocks as nothing else ki could. They're all training, and will play, to the best of their ability, ta and each man will make the most out of the ability of his teammates. B 11 With the toughest schedule in years facing them, they know that it p< will take perfect teamwork to meet it. C DON'T GIVE UP THE GHOST ci ch Most students are taking one look at the schedule, then one glance at hi the list of men drafted, and throwing their arms up in despair. I can't 112 agree with. them. There are two clear reasons why wd. the student ca body, should not go around with glum looks on our faces, bemoaning er our chances at grid honors. a The first is that our chances are much better than most of us seem at to think. True, we've lost a lot of men. but there are a lot left who don't w plan to sit around in sewing circles on the field moaning the loss of p teammates . . . tomorrow or any other day. a Louis Sossamon remains one of the best centers in the nation, and sI is going to make just as much mince meat out of opposing line men T and drop ,just as many runners as before. John Leitner and "Skimp" Harrison at end posts aren't planning to stop reaching for passes just se because some other men from the team have left, and no man from T Tennessee or any other place is going to feel any happier facing Harold ol Middlebrooks, Neil Allen or Jack Keenan, no matter who isn't in the si squad any more. Ernie Baur and Bill Milner aren't going to lie down tomorrow and let plays go past their guard slots just for the sake of old times. Ken Roskie, "Sheriff" Dunham, Glen Rice, and "Mouse" Haskell seem to make a well manned batkfield in any man's game.
