friar . . . we go to press with this passing thought-since many of the
natives in Africa wear almost nothing, isn't it a good thing that Africa is
the Dark Continent? .. In case you didn't know, a skeleton is a stack
of bones with all the people scraped off . . . which is irrelevant, but I'm
boning up on my facts .. . I heard the other day about some fellow who's
never gonna get married. He said he was studying for a bachelor's
degree . .. ho hum ... Did you hear about the cross-eyed teacher who
couldn't control his pupils?
OFFICERS
SAE elected them the other day. They are: President, Alva
Lumpkin; Vice-President, Billy Horger; Secretary. Howard Love;
Treasurer, T. B. Ferener; Warden, Bill Ostendorff; Herald, Charlie
Holmes; and Chaplain, Alec Fant. These officers will serve for first
semester of next year.

PARTIES
Last Thursday, the Chi Omegas had a luncheon for Ann Dixon and
Dot Hope, brides-elect. It was at the Metro and each was given a
piece of silver in her chosen pattern. . . The Tri Delts are entertaining
Sunday afternoon with a tea in the chapter room for patronesses, alum
nae, and mothers of the members. . . KA's gave forth with a party Tues
day night at their favorite party place-the sand pits. Members and
their dates amused themselves by running up the hills, then sliding
down . . . Tch, Tch . .. Sigma Deltas enjoyed a weenie roast, and hay
ride last week.

The Future Teachers of America, campus organization, has elected
its officers for next year. President is Mary Haile, Vice-President is
Mildred Salmon, Secrctary-Trcasurcr is Catherine Martin, and Publicity
chairman is Richard Jackson. They are slinging a weenie roast next
Wednesday at the home of Dr. I4lison Smith.

the alTair. Feature of the dance will
be the grand march led by the presi
dent and officers of the hnterfrater
nity Council.
lie colors of red, white, and blue
will be used to carry out a patriotic
theme in decorating the hall. i3ehind
the bandstand on a red, white, and
blue field will be a large Red Cross.
Pushing the efforts for the dance
is Frankie Marion, Alpha Tau Ome
ga prexy of the council. Dance
chairman is Dave Wallnau of Phi
Epsilon Pi. The decoration commit
tee is headed by Lawrence Stephens
of Kappa Sigma.
