NARGAINT ROLLI, Oed I Alpha REEL S: BY EMIL' Three University of South Carolina students were initiated into Sigma chap ter of Delta Phi Alpha, national honor ary German fraternity, at a meeting held in Davis college Tuesday night. Those admitted into the fraternity were Frances Means, Columbia; Leo M. Trynor, Jr., Columbia, and Harry Riddle, Clover, S. C. Officers of the local chapter are: Paul Barrett, president; Walter C. Kleckley, vice-president; use Marx, secretary and treasurer. All are from Columbia. The new initiates of Pi Kappa Alpha are: William Rhodes Mayes of Mayes ville, S. C.; William Francis Dibble of Columbia; William Henry Allen of Co lumbia. The services were held Thurs day night, March 3. On Friday night the Pi Ik A's held their annual "Bowery Ball" at Camp Marion in honor of the new initiates. The A. T. O.'s recently initiated Jack Clark, Bill Bray, Earl Stevens and Bob Doster. At an impressive ceremony held in Trinity Parish House Friday, March 11, Sigma Alpha Epsilon initiated six new men. They are: Spann Hammond, Co lumbia; Charles Moorefield, Columbia; Jimmy Shecut, Orangeburg; Barney Timmons, Hartsville; Phillip Wilmeth, Hartsville, and C. M. Pennington, Harts ville. Bill Atkinson of Orangeburg, former S. A. E. from the University, has been a guest of the local chapter for the past few days. Pi Phi pledges are planning a tea for actives, alumnae, parents and patronesses to be given the first of April. Newly elected officers of Alpha Delta Pi are : Kathryn Cain, president ; Martha Withers, vice-president; Harriet Mc Brayer, recording secretary; Virginia Webb, treasurer ; Betty Lumsden, corres ponding secretary, and Mary Elise Liv ingston, guard. Quintillian Club, local education so ciety for girls, initiated Louise Cozart, Floride Nelson, Dorothy Benedict, Helen Ladd and June Webb at their last meet ing. Jane Job and Helen Dreher will be initiated March 29 when the group meets at the home of June Webb, at which time election of officers will also be held. Martha Mauney now heads the club. Delta Zeta sorority gave a weenie roast at the country home of Yancy Hughes Friday, March 11. Actives, pledges and their dates attended. Sara Robson, Pi Phi, will attend the Block C dance at The Citadel this week end. Irene Mars expects to attend the K. A. formal at Presbyterian College. S. A. E. Ham Osborne is visiting in Greenville this week. Delta chapter of Sigma Nu is making plans for its spring formal to be held at the Columbia Hotel, April 30. Nine Coeds Pledge Honorary Society Nine Carolina coeds have been pledged to Chi Delta Phi, national honorary lit erary sorority for girls, according to announcement made by Charlotte Ellen Corzine, president of the group. Pledges are Mary C. Brabham, Olivia Walker, Lillian Dowling, Rosemary Grif tin, Carolyn Kemp, Irene LaBorde, Georgette LaSire, Eloise Page and Ger aldine Shapiro.
