Good Season Expected Three lettermen from last year's crack boxing squad will be the nucleus of this year's fistic aggregation. These will be Bill Humphlett, this year's captain, who lost a close decision in the Southern Conference welterweight championship bout last year; Andy Hill, classy featherweight; and Lorenzo Taylor, scrapping bantam weight. Six men have signed up and weighed in so far this season, and Frankie DeMars, boxing coach hopes to see nearly a hundred come out before the season gets under way. Humphlett, Hill, and Taylor haven't weighed in as yet. G. G. Dowling is this year's manager; Charlie Boykin and Fred Crown will be assistants. Last year the boxing squad had its most successful season in the history of the University. Four undefeated Carolina men went to the Southern Conference meet at Charlottesville, Virginia, and Henry Willard brought back the middleweight championship. Other men who made the trip were Bill Humphlett, Andy Hill, alternate captain this season, and "Kid" Rivers, captain last year. Lorenzo Taylor, of this year's squad, also made the trip. Boxing was one of the two paying sports at the University last year and has been growing steadily in popularity.
