Glee Club Will Sing In Church To Give Sacred Recital Program Will be Last Appearance Before Long Trip to Northern States The University glee club will give a recital of sacred music at the Ebenezer Lutheran church on Sunday night at 8 o'clock. The recital will be part of the regular Sunday evening program of worship. This will be the last appearance of the club before it leaves on its northern trip. During the program both choral and solo numbers will be given. Last Tuesday night the club gave a a fifteen minute broadcast over station WIS from 9:15 to 9:30. The feature of the program was a solo by Rhctman Salvo. The glee club is making final preparations to leave December 12 on its final tour of the East, Maurice Matteson, the director, said yesterday. The first stop on the tour will be Queens-Chicora College, where it will give a concert Tuesday night, December 12. Wednesday evening a performance will be given at North Carolina State College in Raleigh. Thursday at Richmond, Va.; Friday at Washington; Saturday at Philadelphia, and Sunday at New York. The club is scheduled to broadcast programs from several of the cities it is to visit. From 2:30 to 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, December 18, a program will be broadcast from New York over the Columbia network. That same evening the club will give its final concert, in the North at the Salon de Musique. Here Miss Mildred Dulling, world famous harpist will appear on the program also and accompany the club in some of its selections. Miss Dilling gave a concert in Columbia last season. Among the numbers that the club will sing at its various concerts will be Granville Bantock's new composition, "Silent Strings." This club will be the first choral society to interpret this number and personal friends of the composer have already expressed the desire to bear the selections as given by the Glee club, officials said. There are 28 members in the club. Waffle Supper To Be In Cafeteria Thursday A walflc supper will be given by the Y. W. C. A. at the University High cafeteria on Thursday, December 14, from 7 to 9, according to R. G. Bell. The menu will consist of waffles, maple syrup, sausage and cofTce. All of this will be served for the small nominal charge of twenty cents. Margaret Sue Copenhaver will act as hostess to the guests. Lois Turnbull and Anna Smith are to be in charge of the entertainment and the decoration respectively. Those acting on the publicity committee arc Betty Morton, Catherine Turner, Olive Nettles, Dorothy Dunovant and Margaret Yeadon. Members of the freshman Y. W. C. A. cabinet will sell tickets. Everyone is invited to be present. V fi. O.. Boys Glee Club Given Open House By The Y Open house was held in honor of the Boys' Glee club, which is leaving on a extended tour Tuesday, in Flinn Hall from 5 to f> o'clock Thursday afternoon with the Y. M. C. A. acting as host. Lighter numbers of the Glee club program were rendered. Other music was enjoyed during the afternoon- Coeds who served were representatives of each sorority and of the nonsorority groups. Cards to the tea were sent out to all the members of the student body, and friends of the Boys' Glee club. u. ?. o. Miss Nell Jones Weds Milton D. Alexander A very interesting marriage of late was that of Miss Nell Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. X. C. Jones, formerly of Branchville, but now of Columbia, to Milton Donal Alexander of Walhalla, at th?k Baptist church in Branchville. Mrs. Alexander is popular in Columbia where she has spent several years, having attended Columbia College and the University. She is a member of the Lambda Kpsilon 1 hcta sorority. Mr. Alexander was educated at Bailey Military Institute and Cleinson College. XT. H. O. * University of Missouri students may "crash" Columbia theatres three times this fall during the football season, according to a decision of the Student Council and the theatre manager.
