He is a rising senior in the school of arts and sciences. Graham is a rising senior in the law school and has been prominent in campus social activities. Mauney is a rising junior in the college of arts and sciences. He played quarterback on the football team and is now one of the leading dash men in Southern conference track circles. In the first race Ellison and Gressette were the two high men in a field of five. Others in the race were Don Ham, Grayson Wolf, and Lonnie Causey. None of the other candidates, however, seriously pushed the leaders. Graham and Hall went to the second race after out-distancing George Davis and J. M. Windham. Hall lead Davis by only three votes and at first it was thought a rccount would be needed. The Student Council, however, ruled that such a recount would be unnecessary. V. H. c. Frolics To Begin Next Friday Night (CONTINUED FROM PAGE ONE) semi-amateur productions and for the past year she has been working with the Palmetto Players. Mrs. William Dean is directing the costuming and dances. All music and dances as well as the scrip is entirely original. The music will be under the direction of William Baldwin. Among other new songs will be an entirely new Carolina pep song. Yesterlay's services were presided over by Bland Hammond, president of the fracrnity and the actual tapping was done )y Sanders Guignard, secretary of the ?roup. All the men elected have been promnent ,in campus affairs and there was a particular emphasis this year on men of ithletic merit. Wolf is co-captain-elect of next year's jasketball and starred on both the footjall and baseball teams this year, lie is i rising senior. Woodruff, a senior, has been captain )f track and also served on the staff of The Garnet and Black as senior editor. Gibbes is editor-elect of Tltc darnel ind Mack and is president of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Dnvall is president of the German club, t member of the track team and is law .'ditor-elect of The Garnet and Black. Smith was captain of the basketball team last winter and is one of the leading hurdlers in Southern Conference rack circles. Cardwell was recently elected president >f the Sigma Nu fraternity and was nanager of this year's track team.
