Music for the dance will be furnished by the Gamecock orchestra, under the direction of Buster Spann. Mrs. Susan Guignard Sparks is in charge of the f decoration of the hall. Ruth Hunt is chairman of the chaperonc committee. Names of those to whom bids are to be sent must be handed to the secre, tary before Tuesday. Semester dues must be in the hands of the treasurer not later than May 5. Admission will be by cards which will be gvien as soon as dues are paid. No member of the club will be admitted unless she presents her card. A large crowd enjoyed the aftair and the club's faculty adviser, Dean Orin F. Crow was present. Miss Ophelia Strickland has been recently voted an associate member of the society. Students Chosen Club Officers Elizabeth Moore Made Vice-President Violin Club; Meeting" Held At Rembert House Elizabeth Moore was elected vicepresident of the Columbia Violin club at its monthly meeting at the Rembert house Wednesday evening. Miss Moore succeeds Marguerite Gramling. ! Leon Keaton, Jr. was re-elected secretary. Other officers re-elected were Mrs. George Ropp, president, and tyrs. | P. M. Thcrrell, treasurer. Both of these ladies arc members of the University orchestra. Miss Moore is a sophomore here from White Oaks and a member of Delta Zeta sorority. She is a member of the University Symphony orchestra, and one of the outstanding students of the campus studio. The program was composed entirely of selections b>' University students of the club. Outstanding were two solos, Handel's Sonato in A Major by Lucilla Mikell and Sonato in F Major j I (Handel) by Marguerite Gramling, also by Handel. Both of these co-eds are graduating in violin in June. Accompanying them were Madame Felice de Horvath and Mrs. E. O. Black. One of the studio quartettes, composed of Elizabeth Moore, Margaret Patrick, Rosalyn Keyserling, and Leon Keaton, Jr., favored the group with two selections. Margaret Patrick and Elizabeth Moore were hostesses at the meeting. Officer Visits Local Chapter Province Deputy Spends Short Time In Columbia On Tour Of Inspection Mrs. L. W. Hosch of Gainesville, Ga., province deputy of Delta Delta Delta sorority, recently visited the local chapter. While in Columbia she was entertained at the home of Betty Payne. Upon leaving here she went to Durham, N. C., where she inspected the newly installed chapter at Duke university. XT. 8. O. Sorority Gives Pajama Party Alpha Omega Entertained At Home Of Elizabeth Bird Thursday Night The Alpha Omega sorority was entertained at the home of Elizabeth Byrd, Thursday night with an informal pajama party. Various games, including "Michigan," were enjoyed, as well as music and dancing. The girls, with the aid of a huge bowl of warm popcorn, practiced their club songs, after which a delicious ice course and cakes were served by the hostess. About fifteen girls were present. u. a. o. What a pity it is that some men do not have to take the medicine they prescribe. Perhaps that is the reason some m&n had the nerve to originate the idea of co-education.
