DAVIS TALKS TO EUPHROSYNEANS Prof. Harry Davis spoke to the girls of the Euphrosynean literary society at their weekly meeting Wednesday afternoon on a very interesting subject "Why should women debate?" The talk made up the whole program. After a few minor business matters, the Euphrosyneans were hostesses to the members of the Hypatian literary society at an informal reception. Delightful refreshments of sandwiches, punch, and candies were served. Latham found himself recorder by the same unanimous process. Voting came feebly back into vogue when nominations for the post of sergeant-at-arms were opened, but J. W. Brown easily won out over three opponents. A number of candidates entered the contest for the board of pardons. J. VV. Greene was elected chairman, to serve along with H. T. Snelling and Earl Taylor. J. J. Mack and Riley Gettys were elected to the Board of Publications without any opposition. Y. S. Williams was elected to the student council by acclamation of the society, and T. T. Stokes and J. W. Lewis were clcctcd to the debating council by the same system. The election was marked, on the whole, by quiet and orderly conduct, mild nominating speeches, and a general lack of opposition.
