BUSTERY MATTHEWS
Bustcry Matthews, jovial blond
beauty of Carolina, came first in a contest
for the handsomest man. He will
pose in the nude as Cupid, and Leslie
Thrasher plans to use his pictures on
the cover of License, new five cent
magazine.
A semi-bald head, well-rounded tummy,
and plump figure are Mr. Matthew's
qualifications as Cupid. He once
attended the Philadelphia Barbers
School, but is a renegade to his profession.
He belonx to Assa E., very
social fraternity.

CO-EDS LAUNCH
NEW STYUS WAR
SCISSORS SEVER SKIRTS
Dauntless Females Fight Dictates
Of Paris For Sake Of
Men
Rebelling against the dictates of
Parisian designers, the co-eds held a
meeting Thursday afternoon in the
Women's Building for the purpose of
sutting off their long skirts.
Hazel Brewer called the meeting to
order and stated the purpose of the
assemblage in an impressive and feeling
speech.
"I find," she said, "that long dresses
get caught in my heels and wipe up the
steps. Furthermore long skirts don't
attract as much attention from the men
as the short ones do. Therefore I say,
let's use scissors."
Gillette Tolbert backed up Hazel's
opinion with an outline for a campaign
against long skirts.
After an excited discussion the girls
rushed to their rooms and returned
with all their long dresses. They
passed a resolution that no girl should
wear skirts longer than one inch above
the knee. This was accomplanied by
barbaric yells and loud snipping of
scissors.
Skirts were hemmed up or whacked
off and the meeting broke up after the
reciting of the new campaign motto:
"UP WITH THE SKIRTS."
