NOTICE I . h l,iT. i-'V /. m. The annual Clariosophic reception for freshmen will be held Tuesday night, Sept. 24 at 8 o'clock. The refreshment committee, composed of K. I B. Norris, Gerald Prcacher, and William Latham, have planned a good evenings program for those present. All freshmen and upperclassmen interested in literary work and not members of a literary society are invited to be present. On Thursday night, Sept. 25 at 7:10 o'clock all freshmen interested in Y. ' M. C. A. work are invited to come to Flinn Hall to form the freshmen Y. Council for the coming year. This 1 is the freshmen part of the Y's work on the campus and it is hoped tiiat a large number of this year's class will ' come out and help organize the council. No membership fees are charged and any freshman wishing to help in 1 this work is invited. ( GAMECOCK GETS NEW TYPEWRITER I OFFICE IS IMPROVED The Gamecock office, situated in a the bottom of Extension Building, has been placed in shape for occupancy by the new staff. The staff moved into the present quarters during last year and have been doing routine : work there since. During the summer a portable typewriter was added to the equipment. The machine is made by the Royal | people and is painted an attractive a shade of green. The editors are of the opinion that this will be an aid in their efforts to turn out a large amount of copy.
