1 CC 1cc DRAMATIC CLUB MUSICAL FEB. 13 Interpretation of Jeannine of Lilac Time; Miss Johnson Sings Matteson Composition The Matteson Studio Ensemble, com posed of Miss Cleo Johnson, Miss Eli zabeth Freeman, Miss Julia Hall and Mr. Kershaw Walsh will be heard in Bethune, South Carolina on Wednes day, February 13th. The ensem ble program which was so delightfully rendered here last fall, has been chang ed to a lighter nature. Several dra matic interpretations, with and without accompaniment, will be given by Miss Johnson. As an added attraction, the ensemble will present an interpretation both dramatic and musical of Jeannine or Lilac Time. This appearance in Bethune will be planned by the department to cover the the second in a series which has been state, visiting wherever arequest is made if it is possiblo. The first of these performances was given recently in Vinnsboro, and proved eminently successful. The feature of the Bethune program will be Miss Johnson's presentation of a charming song written by Maurice Matteson, head of the department and dedicated to her. Prof. Michinot Gives Lecture Member of Alliance Francaise; Sponsored By French Dept. Daniel Michinot, lecturer of the Al liance Francaise, gave a lecture at Chapel last Friday night at 7 :10. Al though his talk wasi n French, never theless it was enjoyed by a large audience. Monsieur Michinot came to Columbia under the auspices of the French department and to Prof. Keith, who introduced the speaker, goes much of the credit for securing such an able speaker. The subjects of Monsieur Michinot's lecture were "Edmund Rostaud" and "Cyrano de Bergerao." This type :f lecture proved very popular and it is hoped that in the near future there will be more like it. GAMMA SIGMAS HOLD ELECTION At a meeting of the Gamma Sigma club held on Tuesday.
