cc First, Performance Of Co-Ed Glee Club Opening of Popular Follies At Town Theatre Monday At 8:30 The Carolina Co-ed Follies will give their first fall revue Monday ant Tuesday nights at 8:30, December 3rd and 4th at the Town Theatre. Miz5 Lucy Coleman, president of the Giri' Glee Club, is of the opinion that tn. hard work done by the girls in the follies will make the revue the bee' and most original they have eve given. The follies are deservedly pop ular not only on the campus and tr Columbia, but also throughout South Carolina and in other states where they have appeared. Among the members of the pru gram this year will be the footbat chorus, led by Miss Mildred Han ness; the Devil's chorus, led by Miss Lucy Coleman, and the Style choru; led by Miss Carrie DuPre. Mis, Alice Mikell will lead the vocal nun: bers, and Miss Marie Edwards any Miss Carrie DuPre will do solo dances. Some of the outstanding member, of the Glee Club are: Misses Fiarrie' Scarborough, Mary Aldrica Wyman Marie Edwards, Carrie DuPre, Luc, Coleman, Elise Legare ; Elise Cross Dorothy Mixon, Alice Mikell, soprano Frances Monteith, violinist ; and Julia, Sarah, and Rosallen Quattlebaern. Miss Floy Vance will act as business mai. ager. Following the opening performanco at the Town Theatre the Follies will go Wednesday, December 5 to Presby terian College. They will give shows during Christmas vacation in Charlotte and Winston-Salem. The regular tour will begin after the holidays. --Usc Tri-Delta Sorority Holds Installation Banquet at Forest Lake Wednes day For Visitors, Members And Pledges The Alpha Lambda chapter of Del ta Delta Delta entertained last Wed nesday evening with a banquet at For est Lake, celebrating the installation of the chapter, and also the fortieth anniversary of the fraternity. Covers were laid for the members of the new chapter, the pledges, the national ir:stall ing oflicers and Delta's from other colleges and universities. The tables were placed in the form of a Delta, the center of wvhich was cleverly decorated to represent a Tri Delta ship sailing on an ocean, real istically edlgedl with shells and sea weed. The ship motif wvith the sorority colors, silver , gold and blue , wvas car riedl out in (let ails. The handl painted place cards were combined with the menu in the form of a Delta. bearing a crescent andl three stars. Gold and blue candles burned in silver c:andle sticks and roses and chrysanthemums were used to decorate the room. A delicious five-course turkey din ner was servad, followed by an inter esitng program of music, toasts and stunts. Cigarettes--15e per ~. C. In the receiving line were: Dr. and Mrs. D. M. Douglas, Dean Irene Dil lard; Mrs. John Crews, Mrs. Burton Clark; Miss Helen Smith, Miss Eli zabeth Jones, president of Alpha Lam bda chapter of Tri Delta; and Miss Nancy DePass, president of Gamma Sigma. Gamma Sigma patronesses and alumnae members helped receive the guest. The house was decorated with autumn colors and on the center piece in the dining room was a lartge silver basket of yellow roses tied in blue tulle; Tri Delta colors. Mrs. William Spencer Currell poured coffee from a silver service at the table. Cards were issued to all the fraternities and sororities on the campus and about 250 guests called during the hour. USc Delta Delta Delta Entertains Members Delta's From Tennessee, Rollins College and Florence Visit Local Chapter Tuesday afternoon the Alpha Lam bda chapter of Delta Delta Delta en tertained their installing officers with a reception at the home of Miss Louise Williams on College street. The following formed the receiving line : M iss Pearle Bonisteele, presi dent of Tri Delta; Miss S. L. Slover, former president; Miss M, Elizabeth Roff, national marshal; Miss Elizabeth Jones, president of Alpha Lambda chapter of Delta Delta Delta, and Dean Irene Dillard. The house was beautifully decorated, the sorority colors, silver, gold and blue being used for the color scheme. The table was covered with an exquisite lace cloth and in the center was a vase filled with yellow chrysanthemums. Blue candles burned in silver candle sticks, and silver dishes held blue and gold mints. During the afternoon parents and friends called from 4:30 to 5:30, and members of the college set called from 5:30 to 6:30. Tea, sandwiches and cakes were served by the pledges and other members of the sorority. The patronesses of Alpha Lambda were present to help receive the guests. Among the visiting Deltas who came for the installation are: Miss Clara Hamlet, Miss Mildred Kent, and Miss Gretta Itiddle froim the University of Tennessee; Miss Angita Bumtler from Rollins College, Virginia, and Miss Marie Ragsdalc from Florence.
