Delta Delta Delta Installation Soon Number Of Clubs And Sororities Entertain Alpha Lambda Chapter The program for the installation of Alpha Lambda chapter of Delta Delta Delta fraternity to take place today, tomorrow, nd Thursday, began with the arrival, yesterday of the installing of ficers in charge of the ceremonies. They are Miss Pearle Benisteel of Evaston, Ill., national president ; Mrs. S. L. Slover of Norfolk, Va., former president; Miss Elizabeth M. Roff of Ashland, Ky., national marshal, and Miss Anne D. Jones of Winthrop College, sponsor of the club. Delta Zeta sorority entertained from 3:30 to 6 :30 yesterday at the home of Mrs. William Able on Pickens Street in honor of the Tri Deltas. Last night Mrs. John Crews, a Tri Delta from Oregon University was hostess at a din ner party at the Silhouette grill. Her guests were the national officers and members of Alpha Lambda. The national members held a business session this morning, and preliminary services will take place tonight. This afternoon a reception was given at the home of Miss Louise Williams in honor of the installing officers. Tomorrow initiations are scheduled for morning and afternoon. The place of meeting will be the Presbyterian Rec reational hall, where lunch was served today and will also be served tomorrow. Tomorrow evening a banquet will be held at Forest Lake Country Club at 8 o'oclock. All members of Delta Delta Delta who are in town are expected. in order that all Tri Deltas have a way to the club, they are requested to meet at the Recreational hall promptly at 7:30 This Thanksgiving eve is the fortieth anniversary of the founding of Delta Delta Delta. On Th rrsday morning a business meeting will take place.. Members of the fraternity from this and other states will conic to Columbia for the installa tion. Miss Cone said that the outlook for the society is bright with its increasing membership and the increasing interest. "I realize the responsibility of the of fice to which you have elected me, and although I greatly appreciate the honor you have done me, I must emphasize the importance of having yoer undivided support in everything that is under taken," said Miss Alice Mikell, newly elected president, in her inaugral dress. Miss Mikell likewise expressed herself as being pleased with the pros pects of the society and its place on the campus. Other officers who were installed are: Miss Ruth Brown, vice-president; Miss Jewel Parrett, secretary; Miss Gertrude Rigby, treasurer; Miss Rosalie Turner, critic, and Miss Roberta Plowden, cen sor. Miss Mikell appointed several standing committees and appointed Miss Dorothy Marsh as usher, and Miss Floy Vance as chaplain. Preliminaries for the inter-society debate on the query: "Resolved, that the principle of freedom of speech and of the press in political and econom:c matters is unso:nd" will be held tomorrow afternoon at the reg ular meeting. Judges will be present.
