C O Bobbed Hair or Not Give Rise to Debate Misses Garner, Cone, Goodwyn and Bell Discuss Hair Question "I'railing tresses are not the en trance into the i)early gates," declared Aliss Lillie Garner, supporting the af firmative if the query, "Resolved: That Bobbed Hair is the Most Stylish Mode for the College Girl." She was sup ported by Miss Mildred Cone, who stated that bobbed hair is a fashion, not a fad. "Tie day for rats, pulls, switches and other paraphernalia of head dress is over. Girls prefer a neat hair dress now, although we do have a few who come down to breakiast with their hats on because they didn't have time to arrange their hair. Misses Macy Goodwyn and Helen Bell who supporteI the negative were of the opinion that bobbed hair has run its clay and long tresses are again coining into their own. "Nothing detracts from a person's appearance more than a flat head with all the hair cut oI, with long hair this condition is not shown." Period dresses and the demand for a more reserved, sedate girl led Miss Bell to say that long hair is necessary to be in keeping with the changing fashions. "Certainly one must have long hair if she is to wear period dresses and tneven hei lines. Bobbed hair would look peculiar with them. USC Mrs. Herndon Awards U.D.C.
