CO-ED, SOCIET EUPHRADIANS INITIATE TWENTY-THREE MEN Fine Spirit Shown 4y New Mem bers As They Stretch the Liberal Time Limit Twenty three new men were elected and initiated into the Euphradian society at its first regular meeting for the year, 1925. The president of the society, Robert Barnwell, presided over the meeting, and administered the oaths to the new men. The bunch of new members is exceed ingly promising, and the society feels fortunate in getting so large a number. The meeting was longer than was intended; due to the remarks of the new men who insisted that they have the floor for a period of not over thirty minutes each. John Pate, secretary, in sisted that he be given the right to read the entire constitution to the meeting, and thus a good iap was afforded for all. One member, a "Rat", stated that it had been his desire since he first saw the light of day to be a student at the Uni versity of South Carolina. and as a re sult of this desire, conseq0ently to be come a Euphradian, and a true "Game cock" in the real sense. - u.s.c. - CLARIOSOPHICS HAVE STIRRING SPEECHES Sixteen Men Initiated - Eachl Makes Talk-Secretary Elect ed to Complete Unexpired Term One new member of the Clariosphic Literary Society at the first regular meeting Tuesday night declared that he came to Carolina to join the Clarioso phic Soqiety and incidentily. to studv. Approaching on the far side of the campus, the writer was amazed, in fact puzzled at the sight of-what the Moses was coming next I It had clothes of the same style as the rest of us, and walked in practically the same manner. But the customary hirsute foliage from the forehead to the nape of his neck was absent with out leave. Then what was it? A "rat" from the barracks of Clem son. One who had heard his last taps. He was through with Clemson, so he said. He has taken up the strut of the Gamecock. - U.S.C. - CO-EDS' ASSOCIATION CHOOSES PRESIDENT Few in number, but with the right spirit the co-eds met in' the chapel last Saturday for the purpose of elect ing officers for this year. The four rooms representing the Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and the Senior classes were decorated in the society colors, gold and black, with the exception of the Freshman room, where a green light gave a greenish glow to the room and the "kids." Children's games were played in the "rat" room, then they were directed to a punch bowl. Entering the sopho more room they became "wise" sophs. played more dignified games and had a written contest. Then came the junior room where the "eats" were served : ice cream, cakes and punch. On to the Senior room. Here the kids grew up, they were at last seniors. Miniature diplomas were given to each. In eacli'diploma was a prophecy which the girls read aloud. The spell broke, the seniors again became "rats" anl were turned loose to have a good old time-as kids. Dancing occupied the remainder of the evening. What We Sa. Phone 7308 Carolina Men, You' COLLEGE "( H. A.
