OARTY FOR NEW
GIRLS PLAN OF
EUPHROSYNEANS
"EVOLUTION" IN EVIDENCE
Freshmen to Become-Full-fedged
Seniors in Their Journeys
From Room to
Room
Much fun is in store for the "she
rats" at Carolina when the Euphroy
sean party is given next Tuesday night.
Things will commence "evoluting" in
Melton Hall at eight o'clock, for the
evening's entertainment is to be an
"Evolution Party". The girls are to bt
dressed as children and will "evolute"
as they go from rooi to room.
Enter first, the Freshman Room
where lollypops and lemonade are to
be served. Small gray "rats" and
"green ribbons" will be found in plen
ty. The little "rats" will play children's
games.
Leaving here, one finds the "Soph
omore Room" next in order. It is to be
a much more dignified place, and
"Wise Owls" will be seen looking
down upon "wise ole fools !"
All this will be fine, but WAIT!
freshmen until you get into the "Jun
ior" Room. Its going to be enough to
make you feel a real true "Jolly Jun
ior" because plenty of ice cream and
cake will be handed out.
Following this the little "Rats" will
have "evoluted" into the "Seniors"
Room, where they mustput aside all
of the "jolliness," "wiseness," and
"greeness" and become a grand, dig
nified old senior. Each will recieve a
miniature diploma which will prophesy
for them, the future.
So, Freshmen girls, keep this in your
mind and come, because all the
girls are going to be there and want
you. But don't forget to come as tho
you were in your second-childhood.

was carried out, consisting of the best
speakers the University afforded.
Clyde WIhite, president, called the
meeting to order making a short address.
to the new men.
First and foremost among the speakers
introduced was the president, Dr. V. D.
Melton, who was himself a Clariosophic.
Wr. Melton spoke on "The Value of
a Literary Society." H'e brought out in
his speech, the change of style of speak
ers of today and of past years. He end
ed his speech with an appeal to the new
men to join a society.
Professor E. Marion Rucker, Judge
Whaley and Professor Crow continued
somewhat on the same theme of Dr.
Melton's talk. Professor Yates Sno*den
gave an interesting talk on the value of
the records of the society. Several old
students gave short talks, among them
were J. E. Hankins and Dohald 'Russel,
R. M. Smith.
Smokes and ice cream were served at
intervals during the program and the
happy smiles shown between clouds of
