Rice ofl Anderson was electcd president of the Alumni Association. CONVERSE Converse commencement exercises started Monday morning. The speakers for the occasion was Dr. H.6nry W. Chase, president of the University of North Carolina, Hen. James F. Byrnes, former Congressman and Dr. R. P. Pell, president of the college. Fifty-nine yqung ladies received diplomas and cer tilicates, and the prizes were delivered to the various winners. The annual lun clkon to parents and visitors was given Itqnday afternoon. The Gamecock's will play at Ridgewood. Sphect's :orchestra at Lakeview and the orchestia at the Jefferson has not yet been announced. The dinner dance at .the Jefferson will end rather early so as to allow the members to motor to and enjoy the dances at the two clibs. Owing to the crowded social calendar the Bats were unable to arrange an eve ning dance this year but on Wednesday afternoon, 'preceding the German Club Dance, the Bat's will entertain with a dinner affair and dance. The Pyramid Cl-,b was also unable to obtain an eve ning in the program but are expected to entertain at a tea dance, probably on Wednesday afternoon. Several of the other chibs will also entertain at tea dan ces during June week. Then will come the grand finale, the climax of a week of joy for on Wednes day evening in the University Gymnsium -will be held the annual June Ball of the German Club which wHI begin at 11 p.m. and last until 5 a.m., when the morning sun has peeped over the purpled horizon to the east. The June Ball is one of the most famous dances in the south and will be attended by some 300 guests who come for this brilliant affair. "Let Joy Be Unconfined" for June Week is almost opon us.
