ZOOLOGY CLASS MAKS EARLY RISING RECORD ASSEMBLE AT 6:00 A.M. Trip In Bird Study Includes An Exciting Experience-Prof. Corrington in Charge The earliest class ever held in Zool ogy at the University was held Monday morning, at six o'clock, when the class in Ornithology, Biology 113, set out on its first morning trip for the study of birds. A few minutes before six the class had assembled in front of DeSaussure College. Two cars drove off after a bit with the class, and be fore long everybody was out browsing around at the base of Elmwood Ave nue. The group of students, headed by Dr. Corrington proceeded up the Southern railroad for some distance, and later crossed over to the C. N. & L. R. R. Here the only way of gain ing access to the track was by climbing up under the tressel thru the cross ties. The' group joined hands and one pulled the other after him until every body was up on the tressel, with the exception of one, the largest in the crowd. Just as he had gotten his head up between the cross-ties, and his shoulders were well fastened, some one yelled, "Mitch, the train is coming!" "Mitch" saved himself by breaking loose two cross-ties and-after all it was only a joke. The bunch spent a very pleasant morning, and reached the campus at cight o'clock, just in time for a hearty breakfast. - U.S.C. - ILLUSTRATED LECTURE FOR ENGINEERING MEN The class in highway construction in the School of Engineering at the University of South Carolina was high ly instructed and entertained on Tues day morning in an address by H .H.
