The Engineering Society held a wei nie roast and get-together meeting last Friday riight in the Chemistry Lec ture room. Honorable Tiny (H. K. Dickert,) assisted by W. W. Wilnams, was chairman and principal ringleader. Soft drinks, hot dogs, apples and oran ges formed the menu; thirty students and several professors formed the crowd. The purpose of the meeting, a real social, was adequately served, and greater solidarity of interest on the part of the several classes in en gineering is expected to come from the event. Freshmen are warned that in the future their studied absence from these gatherings will warrant an investiga tion of their conduct; freshmen are expected to attend and failure is con tempt of proceedings. With custo mary sanity the engineer seeks for the underlying facts in every case, and in this instance concludes that the freshmen engineers omitted this date from their calendar only because they had not yet got the taste for hot dogs. All classes are invited to attend the next feed, which promises to be even a better affair than the last one, Mr. Dickert says. So look out for the date, sometime in March. Any spe cialties to be included should be sug gested to Dickert. -U.S.C. J. M. Long has returned to school from his home where he has been ill for about two weeks.
