TESION ISSUES 1925 HIGH SCHOOL BULLETIN NTAINS MUCH MATERIAL ry Pertains to County - Unit System of Public School Administration 'The query of the South Carolina High ,chool Debating League has been .select and the annual bulletin containing it d much information pertaining there is just off the press. The extension ivision of the University of South Caro a each year issues a bulletin which ntains the query, a brief of each side f the question, and the rules and regu tions of the debating league. The query is: "Resolved, That South 'rolina Should Adopt the County- Unit ystem of Public School Administration." his query will be debated by the seve a high schools that enter the league. hese schools are placed in districts ording to the county in which they re. There are three districts in South rolina. The schools of each district ouped into triangles. After a series f debates between the members of the angles itself and then between the tri les the most incompetent teams are liminated. This continues until there brt one undefeated team in each dis ict. The three remaining teams are en considered eligible for the final con st held at the University during High chool Week. The trophy awarded the winning team s a silver loving cup drated by Ex overnor Richard I. Manning. The win ing school along with the names of its epresentatives shall be inscribed upon he cup. Ophomnore-...Your eye is just miss-taken. --U.s.c. reshmnan (as conductor held out his hand for his ticket)-I don't remem ber meeting you sir, but I am glad to ee . (SIhaes hamn comes the permanent possessor of the cup. The original trophy was won in 1922 by the Rock Hill High School. In the last contest the silver cup was won by the representatives of the Eas ley High School who upheld the affir mative side of the query: Resolved, That Federal Aid Should be Sought to Equalize Educational Opportunity in the Various States of the Union. Those rep resenting the Easley High School were: Miss Lizzie Mae English and Remseni Bouknight. The negative was upheld by Miss Jane Gillard and James F. Cooper, of the Kingstree High School. The debate was one which deserves much merit and one that we cannot soon forget. -U.S.C. TO STAGE DEMONSTRATION MONDAY AFTERNOON On Monday afternoon, December 7 at 3 p. m., there will be held on the Univer sity Campus in front of Canteen a re markable physical demonstration be tween a nationally known product of universal use and our local champion. The product is no less a significent thing than a sock, but possession such wonder ful durability that it has foiled many an attempt at breaking it's securely knitted silk strands asunder. The amazing feature of this demon stration is that a single thickness of 100 per cent pure silk will be subjected to the unustal pull power of Bull's strength and whether Bull or the sock gives up first will be most interesting to view. The sock made by the Real Silk Hosiery Mills of Indianapolis is repre sented in the University by Mr. Al. H. Caldwell, who carries the title of sub organizer for the University and tesi (lent corporate distribution in Columbia.
