A CERTAIN WHMTE-HEADED PROFESSOR WHO takes pleasure in T-EII,ING choice bits of HUMOR TO HIS students OFTEN mixes quite a PORTIION of WISDOM IN THE CAI'SULES of humor. AND somehow we never GROW TIRED of LISTENING TO these hits OF humor and "outside dope." * * * I THINK THyAT IT WAS YESTERDAY when lE REMARKED that KINGS who became TOO C IG FOR THEIR BREECHES USUALLY found Pl,ENTY OF people OPPOSING THEM. * * * WELA UGH ED at the remark AND as the BEl1,4 WAS TO ring in A mninute more WE BFGAN to gather ()UR BOOKS for THI-EV GRAND RUSH. GLEE CLUB TO SEEK ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP HAS FINE CHANCE TO WIN Although Handicapped By Loss of - Stars Organization Is Showing Up Well. Under the leadership of Mr. Matte son the Glee Club is out for its second straight State Championship and if one is to judge by the present indications it has a fine chance to realize this ambi tion. Although handicapped by the loss of many of last year's stars, the club is showing up well in the early season practice. The first call for recruits was answered by some thirty men and more came out later. Each man was given a chance to "show what he had" and it was seen that there was a wealth of material to choose from. After much consideration Mr. Matteson chose the following men: First Tonors-Loyal. J. Mikell, Riggins, L. Hall, S. Saunders, H. Zeigler; Second Tenors-Humphries, Scarbor ough. Lewis, H. Bryan. Lemmond, E. R. Coker; Baritones-McGregor, Wm. Otis. Ful mer, Caligan, Stone. Eargle and Pat ton; Basses-S. Ready, Holler, H. Glenn, Furtick. Je ffords and Fishbourne. It will be noticed that the club has been increased in size since last year. About one-half of the mon are on the club for the first time and they are showing r1) well. It seems certain that there will be a good stringed orchestra, as several of the men are adept in this art. The only mai of last year's quartet who has returned is Harold Zeigler, but capable substitutes will not be hard to find. Takei all inl all, the Gamecock song sters are looking forward to a good year. Legare Bates.-In law firm of Claud N. Sapp, of Columbia. Maxcy Pace-Sou. Bell Tel. & Tel. Co. of Atlanta. Donnon W.
