BIBLE DISCUSSION GROUPS START TONIGHT d Friday night at 7:00 o'clock the Bible 4 Discussion Groups will organize on the campus. There will be a leader and a group in each tenement. The groups will meet every Friday night until Christmas. This year, the B. 1). G.s will be conducted in practically the same mamnner that they have for several years. points will be given for attendance and for new members; every student who attends every meeting and all members of the winning class-that is, the class with the greatest number of points at the end of the season-will be eligible for a "feed" of some sort. 'The hour of meeting will be seven o'clock so as not to conflict with the Clariosophic Liter ary Society meetings. This year we arc going to study a phamplet on campus problems. There are many problems here that only the students themselves can solve; it is the purpose of the groups to bring the boys closer together and get them to (1o some real thinking on certain conditions on our campus. Church services and Bible classes and young people's societies cani not always touch the right spots. Iii B. D. G.s the students feel free to ex press their opinions and to enter hear tily in the discussion. This is what is wanted. These boys seemed to have created quite a stir when a certain show camte to town. The story is told very interestingly in the Ashland Tines Gazette and is as follows: "What's the use of goitig to Shelby, Mont., to see a light as long as Bart I Siediker's big athletic stadium is in town? 'Tle big attraction at the Wal lace shows this week has been Bart's show, where many good boxing and wrestling exhibitions have been put on ' with great success to the delight of many local sportsmen. "Like a volcano in eruption last night the stadium became jammed and burst forth with whoops and yells from the local boys when Bart's giants were over powered by two power pump handles from the Myers plant. True to Myers policy the "Pump Handles" were the best and overpowered their opponents as ten ton steam rollers would crush pebbles in the sand. "Coach Red Jenings, supervisor of wrestling at the University of South Carolina, was the cause of it all. He I took five members of his team to the carnival and after showing the boys how to do it, they downed Bart's men without hesitation in the best wrestling matches that have been witnessed in the city for several years. "Coach jeinigs told the carnival men lie k,ntew a little something about the game and Wouldn't mind wrestling. "Feeling quite confident, Ross Hut- I cheson, a nu1te, from Andersonville, Tenln., who has been with the carnival, went into the ring with Red and at the end of 16 1-2 iniutes Red had Ross helpless on his back with a body scis sors and armlock. Red stated this morning that lie had a big notion to start a show of his own. "Bull Kirven, another member of the university's wrestling team, downed Jack Phillips, of Cincinatti, with a toe hold in only six and one half minutes. "'ile five members of the wrestling team of the University of South Caro Iina, who have been working in this city, are N. Theodore, Buddy McKee, and Red Jennings, of Columbia; Bull Kirven of Sumter and John Mont gomery of lartsville, S. C. 'Tile boys have been making things interesting this week at the carnival and Bart Sne dicker, manager of the show, stated this noon that he had never struck a city where there were so many good wrest lers. "Following a tenl round bout this evening between 1I(lianl Joe, of the Nlyers plant and Jack Phillips, of Cincinatti, Hutcheson and Buddy Mc Kee will wrestle to a finish." That must have been great stuff. We wish that the same carnival would conic to Columbia so that the boys could show us how they did it. We have learnt from the boys who have returned that Buddy won.
