JOURNALISM REVIVED AT WASHINGTON.LEE In 1869, as President of Wash ington College, General Lee es tablisihed the first school of jour nalisn in America. Some years after his death the school was discontinued for lack of funds. The editors of the South now propose to re-estiblish and endow this school. As a beginning an endowment of $200. 000 with )Iiilding and eqlipiment costing $60.000 would justify the name 'School of Journalism. Whatever the sui raised, it will be worthily invested to the honor of Lee, the training of Southern leaders of the Lee type. and the uplift and inspiration of our whole country. T I C K L E S.
