Waite ran Kollock's kick-off back 45 yards to start the seco'd half. Waite, Allen, and Gressette worked the ball to Citadel's 12 yard line but it was lost here on downs. The. ball was rushed, back, however after a punt, gains by Gressette, Sizemore and Waite putting the ball on the five-yard line from where Gressette went over. He kicked goal. Gressette then kicked and Kollock returned the ball 30 yards and Jarvis and Kollock made good gains. The Citadel was forced to punt and Carolina worked the ball to Citadel's 38 yard line by the end of the quar ter. The Citadel fought desperate ly in the last period to regain its lead and on one forward pass it looked al if Jarvis had gotten away for a touchdown when he was stopped by a Carolina man. A penalty against Carolina for holding gave the ball to the Citadel on Carolina 37-yard line. Jarvis ripped off 15 yards but on the. next play Sizemore inter cepted a forward pass. The need of such an organization has long been felt, as of more vital local interest and Importance to the libraries of this section than the great American Library Asso ciation, which has for its fild the wfiole United States. Japan fails to provide this hence the unpopularity of Jap anese methods and ideals in China. The. ignorance and supersti tion in China is appalling, says Mr. Snuggs. Practically 95 per cent. of the population is illiter ate, and the worship of idols 'is still prevalent to a marked ex tent -in some sections, tho grad ually declining in volume in re cent years. The Chinese are very susceptible to the teaching of Christ and show an eagerness and enthusiasm- that delights those who endeavor to instruct them in the true ways of Chris tianity. Rev. Snuggs is in America for a short vacation 'and will return to China before long. His talk before the Y. M. C. A. was in deed interesting and much ap preciated. It is- hoped that we will be able to procure more speakers of his type in the fu ture. REV. E. E. LANE SPEAKS AT Y MEETING TONIGHT The Rev. E. E. Lane of the Educational Board of the South ern Presbyterian Church will speak at the regular Y meeting tonight. Mr. Lane is an accorn 'plished speaker, having traveled over the entire South for the last two years speaking to 'college men. He is the traveling sec retay, of the Southern Presby terian Church. While here he desires to meet all Presbyterian students. He wilt speak on "The High Adventures of Life." The meeting will be at 7 o'clock in the chapel.
