RECOMMEND NEW PLAN FOR COACHING TEAMS Assistants to Regular Stiaff to Act in Advisory Capacity. At their last meeting the al lumni council passed resolu tions recommending to the ath letic board the consideration of a plan to organize an advisory coaching staff to be selected probably from the university alumni and to act as assistants to the regular coaching staff, helping in the perfection of the team's strategy as well as as sisting in emergencies in the ac tual personal coaching. The athletic board will probably act upon the plan at its first meeting. All details for the launching of an alumni magazine were left to a special committee, to which was delegated full au thority to make arrangements and start publication of the magazine at the earliest possi ble date. The magazine will include in each issue, in addi tion to the usual brief news notes of alumni, a number of special articles of the regular essay length. The committee charged with the publication of the magazine includes: Dr. Reed Smith, W. W. Ball and R. W. Wade, all of Columbia, and Eugene H. Blake, of Green wood. The officers of the university alumni association are: J. Gor don Hughes of Union, presi dent; R. Beverley Herbert of Columbia, first vice-president; J. L. Sherard of Anderson, sec ond vice-president; A. C. Car son of Columbia, secretary and treasurer, and an alumni coun cil including: W. W. Ball of Columbia, Christie Benet of Co lumbia, Eugene H. Blake of Greenwood, L. E. Carrigan of Darlington, John W. Crews of Columbia, J. D. Featherstone of Greenwood, W. L. Muchen of Sumter, J. Rion McKissick of Greenville, L. W. Perrin of Spartanburg, W. P. Pollock of Cheraw, H. H. Scott of Lancas ter and George C. Taylor of Co lumbia. R. W. Wade is the ex ecutive secretary of the asso ciation. J. S. Dudley, A.' B., '14 spent a few days on the campus last week. Mr. Dudley is now taking a law course in the school of law at Harvard. Two other Carolina graduates are also attending Harvard this year: D. S.
