CLEMSON TAKES FIRST GAME FROM GAMECOCKS Foster's Men Play Worst Game of the Season. The first of a two-game series of baseball between Clemson and .Carolina was won by Clemson by the score of 4 to 0. The Game cocks were badly crippled with Porter and Smith out of the game, the former being unable to play on account of an injury received in the last game with Guilford. The visitors scored two runs in the first without a hit. Jordan walked and scored when Evans threw Bankhead's roller under the bleachers. Bank head went to third on the error and scored on Byrd's passed ball. In the fifth with two down, Bank head secured Clemson's first clean hit, stole second and scored on Richbourg's Texas leaguer. With two down in the eighth, Poe scored from second when Evans dropped Bank's pop fly. Carolina had opportunities to score on several occasions but usually with two out. A fast double play featured the fielding for Carolina while Skin ner, aside from pitching a pretty game, secured a double and sin gle. Jordan's brilliant fielding helped Thrower out of several awkward positions and Poe went wild on the bases. Carolina.
