The editorial staff wishes to in form this maiden that, as far as we know, there is still a chance for her to become a Mann. MANNI Mann is the object of woman's devotion Because from all evil he tries to refrain; They see in him the sign of pro motion, And admire the height he strives to attain. He's ever alert, and ready to serve The fairer sex in the rights they deserve. Oh, to be a Mann! To the Legislature he should have been sent, And there in the house when the question arose In regard to suffrage, his influ ence he'd have lent In securing for them the equality they propose. He's ever awake and always strives To secure for woman what the law deprives. Oh, to be a Mann!i WITH OTHER COLLEGES The University of Texas award 21 letters to football men last fall. Dartmouth football team has a member on the squad with but one arm. A chair of military seience will be established soon at the Uni versity of Michigan. The University of Washington has established a chair of Russian language and literature. Dartmouth and Bowdoin Col leges have adopted a rule giving, extra credit marks to students who spend part of their vacation 1 at Plattsburg Military training camp. UNIVERSITY HOST TO GENERAL ASSEMBLY (CONTINIED FROM PA.E ONK.) wonderful forethought by pro viding special music for the oc casion. Everything moved with out a hitch. The Rev. Mr. Stokes returned thanks after which Dr. Currell made a short but very interest ing witty address of welcome. It is very probable that the ad dress would have been longer but the ravishing appetites could not be held in check. Mrs. Latimer should be com plimented very highly for the manner in wich she prepared and served the following menu: Pickles Cranberries Celery Turkey and Dressing Rice and Gravy Macaroni Candied Potatoes . Lima Beans Hot Rolls White Bread Tango Ice Cream and Cake Coffee Tea Cigars and Cigarettes Following the dinner E. P. Hodges of the University Quartet sang two solos, "When the Bells in the Light House Ring" and "The Pirate Chief." Both ofi which brought forth much ap plause and were thoroly enjoyed., A f ter luncheon the members of the legislature were shown about the campus. It is not often that the students of the University like to hear people ''make little" of their buildings, but on this occasion they were glad to hear some of the legislators say that the buildings were not good enough for ante bellum days. The General Assemby has al ways favored Winthrop and Clemson and now since these in 3titutions are well equipped it is hoped that they will turn their attention to the much neglected State University.
