CAROLINA TAKES PART IN GRAND PAGEANT (CONTINi'E) FROM P.AE ONE.) with a modern election. "The program and the names of those taking the principal parts will be published later, but at present it is enough to know that this will be a glimpse back into the lovely, fine old stories of England when "Good Queen Bess," with her court, with heralds and yeomen and jesters, came to the merry mak ing, and also the high officials .i of "Lunnon Town," the alder men, the town clerk, the high C sheriff and the town crier. Also C_") 3 Maypole dances and foresters ui and maidens with blue kirtles 6 and chaplets of flowers. It couldn't be old England without '7 Robin Hood and his merrie men, so they'll be there, too, as well as stilt boys and dancing bears. "There'll be a pageant on the college green, an impressive re cessional, and then the whole affair will come to an end with a Shakespere masque at the Co lumbia theatre that night. "And the next morning every body will wake up and look out of the window to see the stilt boys and dancing bears come by. And then they'll rub and rub their eyes and look some more. 'Why-I must have been dream ing. But I really thought back in Merrie Old England. How wonderful and strange they'll say. At night, in the Columbia theatre, Shakespeare will pre sent a Masque, in the spirit of the realm of fantasy, before the Queen and her court. The greatest scenes of Shake speare will be carefully inter woven to present the Masque, and at the close the-poet will be surrounded by his dream child ren. The world will pay tribute to Shakespeare, who now -is recog nised as the world's greatest poet. Students Participate.
