I..A. CLUBS HOLD .. UNION MEETING Prohibitionists Give Attractive Program Monday Night. The I. P. A. clubs of Colum bia College, Chicora College and the University, held a union meeting in chapel Monday night. Dr. Blackwood, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church made a short talk, and a musical pro gram was rendered by members of the clubs from the female colleges. Plans were made for for the incoming State conven tion that will be held in April. The meeting was presided over by L. B. Harrison, president of the University Club. The meet ing was opened with prayer by President Currell. Dr. Blackwood spoke on the success of prohibition in Kansas. lie-lived for a number of years in the leading prohibition state, and gave some first hand facts concerning the working of the prohibition laws in that state. Dr. Blackwood said that the pa pers and literature in circulation that claim a failure of prohibi tion in Kansas are not printed or published by Kansas people. "In the last campaign" said Dr. Blackwood -tlh- only man to cotne out on the side of anti-pro hibition received only one per ceif~ofThe'votes of the State." The musical program that fol lowed the talk of' Dr. Blackwood was especially good, consisting of violin, piano and vocal solos. The program was as follows: l'iano, Miss. Gray. Columbia College; vocal, Miss .lordon Chi cora: violin. Miss Ober, Colum bia College; violin, Miss Green, Chicora College. A short business meeting was held and tentative plans made for the convention to be held in Columbia about April 20th. A large crowd is expected as prac tically every college in the State has indicated an intention to send several delegates. At this time the State prohibition con test will be held. B. 1912, now teaching at Andrews, was on the campus during the meeting of the Teachers Association.
