He thinks he's somethingswell, But the ladies think he's "war." CLASS PICTURES Each senior class should have a group picture made and fram ed to give to the University. We feel sure that the institution would be glad to have these pic tures. The question is where shall we put them. They might be hung in the chapel, in Flinn Hall, or in the library. But be fore the library can accommodate many more things it must be en larged. There should be a fire proof addition made to it. The 1915 class might start a good custom by having a picture made and give it to the Univer sity. We would suggest that the picture be made the latter part of the senior year so as to get as nearly as possible those who will graduate. There are just a few group pictures of classes on the campus. An alumnus would take pride in seeing this class picture hanging on the walls of our library. And the members of the class of 1915 would like to look back upon theirs as the old est on the wails. A LIBRARY NEED A great deal has been said and written about our library, but there is one library function which has not received adequate discussion. Every library should have an autograph case where could be collected historical let ters and documents. Most of the old and big libraries have these cases, and have numbers of letters from great men. We believe that Carolina should have a collection of autographs. During her existence she has turned out a great many famous men. Surely we have something from some of them. But there are numerous other great men whose autographs we probably have and will have. Our profes sors have many historical letters that they would lend to the li brary if we had a suitable place for them. Rows of books are not particu larly interesting to a visitor un less he has time to sit down and read. Of course, he wants to look over them and see the kinds of books that the library keeps, but the most interesting part of a library is the collection of old Mss., old letters, and trophies. We trust that our libary shall soon have such a collection. Marshal Haile has been work ing over the tennis court behind Elliott college. The court has been widened and backstops put upD.
