Dr. Smnith saill that "We aire IHAi-d men, Princeton men, Carolina rnen, ac cording to where we graddate. Each of these names has a pecu liar meaning. Associated \With that of 'Catolia is the Honor System, for Carolina claims the "honor" of having formally in augurated the Honor System. No definition can be given for _ the 'Honor System. It defines itself. A sense of honor is to man what purity and chastity is to woman. It is intangible, in visible but nevertheless'real and F4ctual, a force working both 'consciously and unconsciouly in us toward a good end. The "honor spirit" is embraced in the Honor System. The "honor spirit" of Carolinh should be the foremost factor in outr "cillege spirit." Unfortunately the Honor Sys tem is sometimes not worked in the high 90iomis. The college Honor System . 'develbps the sense of honoi; the man of hon or succeeds. The seis'e of hon or and Carolina spirit'go hand in hand with the college honors.
