PARTY GIVEN. Dr. and Mrs. Wauchope Enter tain Dr. Smith's Mission Class. Monday evening at 8:30 the members of Dr. Smith's mission class enjoyed a pleasant recep tion at Dr. Wauchope's home. The features of the evening were several novel games which proved interesting and amusing to all of those present. After the games delightful refreshments were served. The success of the occasion was due in no small measure to the presence of mem bers of the fair sex. Among the young ladies present were: Miss Pauline Snowden, the beautiful and charming queen of Easter Week, Misses Baldwin, Emily and Margaret Dick and the Miss es Wilson. Among the members of Dr. Smith's class present were A. E. Geer, B. F. Bird, R. D. Dough erty, E. S. Gambrell, H. G. Gwin, R. W. Wade, C. D. Brear ly, D. S. Polier and J. A. Tol bert. Samuel Pinckney Schneider, a member of this year's graduating class, has been awarded a junior fellowship at Clark University, Worcester, Mass., in the depart ment of ;psychology and philoso phy. The following is an extract from a letter Schneider received from G. Stanley Hall, president of Clark University. 'Your testimonials are so good that we have decided to plunge a little, and offer you a junior fel lowship here next year, remitting fees and paying $100. This is better than we usually do for men fresh from the bachelor de grees. I hope you will come and make good." Schneider has accepted the offer and his intentions are to be at Clark University next year. He has made a splendid record during his four years at Carolina. In 1910 he won the teacher's scholarship from Lexington coun ty, and he also holds the McDuf fie scholarship in the department of education. He has been a 'good student, and has made good in every respect. We wish him the best success at Clark, feeling sure he will some future day be a prominent psychologist and distinguished philosopher.
