S14N OF VICTORY.
Nine fabs.or.Carolipa ring,
And we hear the Gamecock
crowing.
For victory we rise and sing,
While Oa olina's hogts are go
4nd our hearts are fond, Caro
lina,
Tg thee shall thy:sons be true.
Raise high her glorious name,
Praise high her sacred fame,
And stand and raise your colors
on high.
Cheer. on to Victory.
The foregoing song was sent
to one of the faculty of the Uni
versity'by James Allan Jr., a law
graduate of 1918. It shows how
close the alumni of Carolina are
to the college, and with what
interest they follow her fortunes.
Y. M.. C. A. Meeting.
Last Wednesday evening Mr.
W. H. J. Kizer, of the Univer
sity, gave a pleasing little talk to
members, of the Y. M. C. A. upon
"Christ and the Modern Soeial
Impulse." He emphasized the
greatness. of one who serves,
contrasting the work of the
good Samaritan with that of the
rich young ruler.
After the regular meeting sev
eral calls' were presented for
young men to assist in religious
work in the city. A number of
the students are already engaged
in this kind of work, and report
encouraging results.
Mr. W. J. Scott was elected
Y. M. C. A. editor of the Game
cock.
Heating Plant in Operation.
The plant to furnish the cam
pye with steam heat is now in
operation. Connecting pipes
have been put in the recitatiQn
rooms in Davis College and in
the new dormitory, Woodrow
College. . This long hoped for
heating plant has been operated
successfully for several days. It
is hoped that the next legislature
.wl make an appropriation to
extend the system to the other
buildings on the campus.
New Doniitory Nears Finish.
Woodrow College, the new
dormitory now being built be
tween Rutledge College and
Green St., is rapidly nearing
completion, and will be ready for
occupancy in a few days..
This is an up-to-date dormi
tory in every respect. Each
room has steam heat and a, pri
vote lavoratory. In addition
there are shower baths 'with hot
and cold water in each tenement.
These roonas are so attractive
thpt there will undoubtedly be a
great rush of those who wish to
be so fortunate as to room there.
