Euphradian And Clario sophic Societies Meet. The two literary societies held their first meetings of the year Saturday night. There was a large number of old men present and also an encouraging bunch of new men. Twenty five new men were received in the Clariosophic society and about the same num ber joined the Euphradian. Sev. eral of the new men made short and spicy speeches and the out look is promising for good liter ary wwork. University Opens Promising Session (Continued from page 1) preparing and cooking food-stuffs has been installed. The mess now has a seating capacity of 350. Much credit is due to Prof. Car son and those of his committee for the splendid improvements in this line. Much improvement has been done in the library. A new and elaborate ceiling has been put in and the whole building has been renovated. It seems that the increase in students has kept pace with the many improvements. The num ber of students registered up to Sept. 22, is 432, as compared to 380 registered at the same time last year. This is an increase of 58, or approximately 14 per cent. The 500 mark is expected to be reached soon. Work, generally, has begun in earnest and every thing foretells a brilliant session for tee University.
