LAW ASSOCIATION EXCITING INTEREST The Law association of the Uni versity is in a better condition for work, and is doing better work than it has been for a long time. At the moot-trials on Wednesday nights many 'are in attendance, as a rule, and the cases are generally argued with zest. The members are giving theinselves assiduously to the work, and the professors are aiding the association by presiding in turn at the trials. The cases alternate, a civil case being followed by a criminal one. By means of this arrangement the young counsellors reccive benefit from the practice in both branches of the profession-the civil cases training them in citing decisions and tracing authorities, and the criminal cases giving them care in presenting their cause to the jury. A few weeks ago the greatest movement in the annals of the Uni versity was launched, when the coi bined classes of the law school in augurated a plan by which they hope to place on the campus a well equipped modern $40,000.00 law .5 building. This great work was d conceived by the senior in age and experience in the second class. A man with ten years' success in the business world, lie now devotes some of that energy and thrift, characteristic of himself, to the law school of the University. The miiim bers of the classes have taken hold of the proposition enthusiastically, subscribing from $50-00 ul)ward at the initial meeting, aggregating nearly $4,000.00. A committee is now presenting the matter by means of correspond ence to the law alumni of the Uni versity, and to prominent and infnu ential citizens over the State. A banquet is now being discussed, at which the prominent members of the bar will be in attendance, and will have the magnitude and inipor tance of the campaign presented to them.
