CAMPUSGRAMS. Dr. Gordan Moore has returned from Augusta, where the Baptist Conference was held. It was a purely volunitary attendance of min isters, both of the United States and Canada. While there, Dr. Moore read a paper that reflected great credit upon the University, and which ranked high with the other contributions. All honor to he him self. * * * Dr. S. C. Mitchell, while on his way to the National Association of Colleges, to take )lace in Washing ton, delivered an address at the Y. l. C. A. in Charlotte Sunday after noon. At Raleigh, he preached a sermon in the First Baptist church, and was in Richmond on Tuesday. ie will return to the campus Vednesday night. * * * We read, with pleasure, the mar riage notice of Mr. S. Edwin Hen drix to Miss Edyth Levin. Mr. Hen 6 drix is an alumnus of U. S. C., and known to be one of Carolina's well wishers. Long life and all happiness to him and his bride. * * * The grasshopper eats the grass. green grass; The honey bee sucks the honey; The A. C. fluik the freshman class, And S. C. gets the money. *I * * Monday morning Professor Car son gave us a short, but interesting talk of his attendance to the inaugu ration of the president of Trinity College, at Durham. Professor Carson visit-ed N. C. A. & M. Col lege and 'the U. of N. C., in ordet, to study the college buildings. At Chapel H.ill he saw Dr. Bain, wvho. in his undiminished love for U. S. C., sends his kindest regards to the student body, collectiv'ely -and in dividually. W'hen Professor Carson vent up to Durham, And listened to speeches intended to stir 'em; He found the 'town full Of educational bull Besides being full of Bull Durham. * * * Mr. Lawrence Kirkland spent, as usual, the week-end at his home in Camden. He returned to the cam pu~s Monday morning. * * * "lfas anyone seen Mac's dlerby?' * * * Mr. (Frowsy) William McMillan MIalvertoni Graydon will leave the campus this wveek for a three months' "big gamie" hunt in the everglades 'of Florida. Sheppard has fully re coveredl from the painful operation which he und.erwent last week. We wvelene him back on the campus. Much to our sorrow,- Mr. Dick Reeves has been confined to the hos pital with a painful, though, we hope, not serious ailment. * * * W-e gladly gave Mr. Asbury Vil liams the "glad hand" on his return to the Universi-ty. He has suffi ciently recovered from an operation of appendici-tis to again be "one of the boys." Y. M.C. A. NOTES. On November 9th, the Association had the pleasure of hearing Coach Neff, who spoke on 'the opportuni ties a college man has of making something of himself, and his duty to his fellow students A large num )cr of studeits veie out and listened with rapt attention to the coach, who is a speaker of much force. * * * Several Bible study classes have been organized and are now doing good work. Will you join one? Do you want to know anything about the Bible, so as 'to be able to discuss it intelligently? if so., give your name to either R. F. Bradley or Sec retary Mills. Join and increase .the enthusiasm of the movement. * * * An effort is being made to improve the singing in chapel, and at the Y. M. C. A. meetings. A singing class has beei started, which meets every Sunday night immediately after sup per in Flinn Hall. Come\ out and join t'he class. We need you. * * * Two student publications, the In tercollegian and 'The Student World, are now on the reading table in Flinn Hall. These publications contain all the news of the colleges of the land, especially the Y. M. C. A. news. Men, read these magazines and profit by the good news therein.
