Flinn Hall is certainly on a boom. c13 In a few weeks it will be one of the most attractive buildings in the city. During the first part of this week or cjs ders were placed for the following list S of popular magazines: Harper's 'a JagaZine, Harper's .Weekly, Century, :Z Saturday Evening Post, Literary Di gest, Collier's Weekly, World's Wok, McClure's, Nation, Life, Outlook, Popular Science Monthly, Review.lof Reviews, Everybody's, Hampton's, American M11agaZinc, Illustrated Lon don Ncwvs, The Intercollegian. and The Survey. These magazines will make the Hall the garden spot of the University campus. The funds to secure this excellent list of periodicals was contributed largely by members of our faculty. We certainly thank these gentlemen for their kindness. and we trust that the good obtained from them will more than repay them for their trouble. It is also hoped that we will secure from other quarters The Atlantic lonthly, Scribnter's, Current Litera ture, Southern School News, and probably a few others. With these magazines added to the already large list of newspapers, our reading room will be one of the best in the whole South. Fellows, show the faculty your appreciation by coming over and reading tile periodicals. It will be an education in itself. The New LockCers. One of the most important things that have come through the initiative of Mr. Scofield is the plan for having steel lockers inl tile gymnasium. These lockers arc absolutely sanitary, havinlg no wvood ill conlnection withl thleml at all, and are equally as safe as they are sanitary, hlavinlg a changeable combi nation that no other person can knowv except the owner of the locker. Tihe schleme is admirable; each locker can be bought for use dlurinlg all your college course for four dollars, and at tile end of your college (lays you leave the locker to the gymnasium equip)ment of the University, thus establishing a comp)lete set of steel lockers. If it is desired, a man can rent a locker for one year, and the expense can be lighltenled by clubbing togethler eiher to renIt or to buy a 1nocker.
