ON THE CAMPUS. Mr. Halcott Poag has been called home on account of the illness of his uncle. Mr. James 0. Sheppard spent last Sunday at his home in Edgefield. Mr. Sheppard's arm is getting along nicely, though lie suffers a great deal from it. Mr. J. 'Bratton Davis, '08, came down from his home in Winnsboro on business Monday and while here at tended the Easter german. Mr. U. G. DesPortes, Jr., was in Columbia the first of this week. He also attended the Easter german on Tuesday night. Mr. Kenneth James, formerly a stu dent here, is in the city, and while here has been visiting fr;nds on the cam pus. Several of the students accompanied the baseball team to Charleston this morning. \We are glad to see this interest in the team among the stu dents, and we only wish it were pos sible for a larger number to leave their classes and'go with the team to cheer them on to victory. Last Sunday the infirmary contained its usual number of men "taking the treatment," and some of them show at marked improvement. a Mr. A. W. Mr. Douglass McKay, '06, who spent one year here in the Law De partment and later passed the State Bar examination, has taken Mr. Lumpkin's place with Messrs. Barron & Barron, of Columbia. Dr. Mitchell, Pref. Wardlaw and Prof. Hand have been in Little Rock, Ark., this week attending the sessions of the Southern Educational Confer ence. Dr. Mitchell and Prof. Hand are on the Executive Board, and Prof. Wardlaw is present as the rep resentative of the University. Mr. U. G. DesPortes drove to his home in \Vinnsboro Wednesday night in his car. He was accompanied by Messrs. Polly Parrott, Willie Mc Gowan and Trippett, who were his guests for the night. Quite a number of men on the Charleston College team spent Wednesday and Thursday nights on the campus with friends. Mr. Ben Heyward, of Rion, a for meri member of the class of 1910, visited friends on the campus this week. Ife attended the Easter ger man on Tuesday night. Mr. W. C. Erwin, of Rion, spent Tuesday night on the campus with friends, and also attended the german that night.
