M. C. A. of Charlotte, X. C., have made arrangements to have an exposition of fine arts, industries, etc., of the Carolina?. Curious relics, historical data, specimens of geology, fancy work, embroideries. etc., will be received as exnioits. r airfield has thousands of things that should be there, and many ot the things that were exhibited at the miniature exposition should be sent. Good care will be taken of everything sent to the exposition, and the people of Fairfield should have a fine exhibit. The several township boards shall meet at such lime and place most convenient before the first Monday in May, 1897, and on the third Mondays of January of cach succeeding year, for the purpose of considering applications, and within ten days thereafter the county examining board shall meet at the several county seats to settle all disputes and contests. It shall be the duty of said board to examine each applicant or his pp location under Jules and regulations prescribed by the Secretary of State, the Attorney General and Comptroller General, who are hereby created a State board of pensions, giving in detail the reasons which have influenced them in granting or rejecting said applications, -accompanied by all the evidence upon which they acted, after first being duly sworn fairly aud impartially to discharge the duties herein prescribed for them to the best of their ability, and after said oaths are duly filed in the office of the clerk of the court tfie memoers 01 me saiu township hoard of pensions shall meet as soon as practical for the discharge of duties herein imposed upon them. That section 951 of the Revised Statutes of 1893 and the act amendatory thereto, approved 9th March, 1896, be further amended so as to read as follows: Sec. Sol.
