=DW3 FOM T9U WINNSBORO MILLS. (Oontinued from page one.) Verner is our popular and efficient Cotton Classer. Mr. Gordan Grant has returned to the fold after a vacation of two weeks. iMr. Jimmie Smith, service mana ger, is hiding out somewhere in South Carolina on his vacatid'h. He would not tell us where. The only satis faction that we got out of him was that he was going to spend part of the time with his girl. We wouldnt be surprised if he came back all "doubled up". Mr. George Baker and family.have moved from our village. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Woods have mov ed to Gastonia, N. C., where they will make their future home. Some splendid Christian families have recently come to our village. We are always glad to welcome peo ple who love the ideals and stand ards of righteousness for which our community stands. Now is a good time for some good families to file application with the service depart mentsfor positions in the mill for the future. There is more money in mill work than in feeding boll weevils. Besides we have delightful homes and modern conveniences such as water, light, and sewerage. We have as sanitary and as healthy a village as South Carolina affords. The moral standard is high. The religious and educational privileges are all 'that the heart could wish. Splendid med ical attention is given to each employ The election passed off quietly. We are ready to cast the ballot that will help elect next Tuesday. Elec tions are a good thing occasionally. They at least get Candidates worried and anxious about their jobs. We are hoping that the best man for each office wins. If the voters make a mistake and get the wrong man it is up tio that man at least to get busy and live up to his promises and to the peoples faith in him. We never knew that -e had so many interested friends until the race began to warm up. We hope. that these good folks keep up their handshaking and friend ships. But alas they will all forget us. The man who wins will be satis fied and the other will let his lo' lie dormant until the next election. But God bless the candidates and help those who win to be faithful to ibe sacred trusts of the people and may He assuage thi disappointment of those who lose. Mr. G. H. Lokey is sporting a new Sport Model Haynes touring car. COMMUNITY HOUSE PROGRAM. Friday and Saturday, 8:00 p. in. Wm. S.
