Are You Using Your Eyes Or Are You Blind To The Advantage Offered Buy Government Savings Securities? They Pay Good Ifiterest And Hej You Save. - DON'-r BEr- A MOLE ROOM FOR SINGLE WOMEN. Room for the single woman! There is a world call for her. Not because of any political rights she may possess, not on account of anyL self-assumption on her part, nor be cause of any determination she maj have made to push to the front; but because there is a real need of her, and a plac for her, no matter which and a place for her, no matter which We say this call has come to the unmarried woman of our day, for the reason that she has proved her self worthy of it. In the time of the world's greatest stress, no service task so severe that she was mt t rea dy to undertake it. No prison so dark that she did not cheer it -by her presence. No soldier boy so lonesome that she did not chasce away his tears with her smiles. The world is richer by reason of the work done by these heroes of the Cross, and one of the brightest spots in &in otherwise gloomy story is the tale which tells of their untiring de votion to the cause of humanity. And iow the war is over. These young women have come back quiet ly to take their places in any place, and in every place, where they are needed. The national government opens wide its doors of service to them. Offices, professions of all kinds, -and places of business of ev ery name and nature summon therm to do the best they can, to give all that is truest and noblest in them to help and to cheer and to bless their fellow men. Nor is it always out where the light shines brightest that the young women of our day are needed. In a million homes they are doing ear fI -I nest, patient, untiring work that somebody may be happy. They feei that here is a call for them just as clear as that which summons their sisters to more public service, and, in this they are right. To make a home happier, to lead a buy or a girl out into fields of greater usefulness, to do the little everyday things that few ever know anything about, but which need to be done if the world is to advance along a shining way, these are things no less blessed than are the things we sometimes cali much more important. God bless our sisters of the single heart and the single purpose. SCHOOL SPIRIT. The youngsters who are now re turning to their book work ought to be inspired this year to develop bet ter school spirit. Colleges and pri vate schools build up a tremendous prestige as '' result of this senti ment. Every college student is in cited to- give his -efforts and his en thusiasm to boosting the reputation and success of his institution in ath letics, in scholarship and every stu dent activity. - Many Uigh - schools develop this spirit, but in others there is little loyalty to the- school and* its under taldngs. A school with a fine spirit of loyalty gives a town a wide spread reputation, and gets better support from its taxpayers, ana its pupils .obtain greater- advantages. Every pupil in Winneboro should realize that he is a partner in t enterprise of creating high class schools, and keep up the record of Mt.
