Team charmingly entertained at a beautiful afternoon reception on last Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Ruff ii Ridgeway complimentary to the mem. bers of the Cultus Club. "'he guests were received at the door by the hostesses, assisted by Miss Jennie Thomas, Mrs. J. Q. Day. is, Mrs. LeMaster and Mrs. R. C. Thornias, where they were ushered into the parlors. The house looked beautiful with its many handsoxm potted plants and flowers. A buffet luncheon was served in the dining 'room where a bevy of pretty young girls saw that everybody was served, then the ladies adjourned to the lawn and found 'their way to the summer house where block cream and cake were served. The guests were al.. lowed to wander informally around the beautiful grounds and late as.. sembled at the front of the house where they were entertained with a pantomine given by six lovely little girls, whose very movements were the poetry of motion. They looked like veritable butterflies as they flitted around on the lawn among the shrubs and flowers, attired in colors of the rainbow. They were warmly ap plauded. Mrs. J. E. McDonald, Jr., was hos tess to the Thursday Afternoon Bridge Club on Thursday niorning. There were two tables of players present. The guests of the club were Mesdames John Bratton, K. R. Mc Master, J. H. Boulware, Misses An nie Ketchin, Lilla B. Ketchin and Mary Carlisle Elliott. The highest seore was held by Mrs. K. R. Mc. Master. Peach ice cream and cake were. served. MRS. PATTON ENTERTAINS. Mrs. G. F. Patton gave an infor al reception Wednesday afternoon in honor of her guests, Mrs. Richard Smart, of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Chas. Dwight, of Charleston. About thirty guests called during the af ternoon. The rooms were prettily decorated with bowls of sweet peas and Shasta daisies. Sherbert and wafers were served by Miss Louise Ellison, Mrs. Joe Obear and Mrs. Dees. TUESDAY BRIDGE CLUB. Mrs. John Bratton was hostess to the Tuesday Afternoon Bridge Club this week at her country home near Winnboro. Three tables were set for bridge. The house was prettily decorated with bowls of sweet peas. The highest score for the afternoon was a tie between Mrs. H. E. Cald.. well and Miss Floride Martin.
