Stewart has been ap pointed carrier of the free rural route going out from Wood wards, defeating his conpetitior by one- ourth poiut. There were about ten applicants hero Saturday, standing the examina tion for the position of carrier on the two new routes that are to go out from Ridgeway. The first of the*e will go north east for a few miles and fhen go sornth, crossing the Longtown road and making an inner circle within route num ber one. The other will go west from Ridgeway.
