T The sales of Cotton for the three days were T 25,000 bales; of which Speculators took 9000, and Exjiorters 1000. Fair Uplands, 5 1-4; Mid- T * Winer. 4 7 8. Fair C>rleans, 5 5-8; Middling, 5.? . On the lower grades there was a decline of near- T \v 1-8. Wright and Candy's circular states that the. T Cotton market was dull, and lower grades easier without quotable change. Sales for the three T days, 18,000* bales, of which 4500 were to Exporters and Speculators. X . The sales of the week F< amounted to only 37,000 bales, of which 0000 to F< speculators and 3000 to exporters. Fair qualities had declined 1-1 Gd; lower grades nominal at 1-8 a l-4d decline. In the House of Commons. Mr. Hume's motion of the extension of the right of suffrage was tli defeated by a large majority. The appropriation of bills were freely voted by the opposition. Fire.?At an early hour yesterday morning f the cry of fire called our citizens to a carpenter ' shdp in flatnes near the College. It extended to ~~ nothing beyond it, and was consumed. McKaiti, Esq., all of this LI DIED.?At the residence of his Father, James S. X Murray, off the 10th March last, in Ottawa, Illinois, William Blaxdixg, aged -19 years?a native of Camden. Little known beyond the circle of his family friends, he was from childhood a sufferer ami diseased. During his last year he suffered much acute pain, yet as in former years, without a murmur or complaint. (A A spirit more mild, patient, affectionate, intelligent and clear, rarely gladdens our earth with its cheerful presence. During the last four months his hope and confidence ? in the Saviour grew strong and triumphant. He felt that were it not for the parting with those dear to him, Lhe could cheerfully die.
