Branch of the Woman's Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal Church convened at Greater Trinity, Spartanburg, South Carolina, August 10 and 1R, under the direction of our charming aiid gracious State Supervisor, Mrs. V. V. Reid and our efficient Conference ^ Branch President, Mrs. Ruth Ja, nerette. The . session opened with soul stirring devotional services, which created an atmosphere for an inspiring sermon delivered hy Reverendj N. A. Gary. j ? A nearty and sincere welcome 1?was enxtended to the missionaries and friends of the conference by _ Miss M. Porter, in behalf of the members of , Greater Trinity '... The Holy Communion was administered hy the Presiding Elder ~ " ~ and Dr. E. A. Adams. The Tuesday afternoon session Was. high-lighted by the reports from local Presidents and District Workers. An increase irv membership and finance was shown. Mrs. V, V. Reid, State Supervisor was presented by Mrs. Ruth Janerette to deliver her annual at: dress. Mrs. Reid thrilled her hearers, using as her subject, "Meet ~ - ing Today's Challenge." t- . A Panel ,pi#cussion, "What's * Your question?" was one-of main features of the afternoon The masters minds behind this panel were those of the Presiding Elders and Dr. E. A. Adams. In the Tuesday evening session the young people of,our Confer once placed well their parts, un dor the guidance of Mrs. Lucile Holman, Who is the Director of Y P. and Children's Department. A group of ladies from Trinitj and (Ireater Trinity Missionary Societies, with Mrs. Lois Boyd pi t siding, began the Wednesday morr ing session with a unique "Hymr Sing," which included songs fron each letter in the word "mission nr\7 99 * Realizing the -great influence f? mily life has on the community *a workshop .on Family Life, with Mrs. E. A. Adams, as chairmar was presented. Other participants were Mrs. Frances Gore, Mrs. Far ninghum, Mrs. Lillian Carmichael Mrs. Viola Rutherford and Mrs Edith R. Holmes. In the afternoon meeting, i grdup of ministers, with .Reverent L. E. Crumlin, as chairman presem ed a Panel Discussion, "News anc Views in Light of Our Christiar Faith."
