Important Meeting.
To the Citizens of Kingstree:
On the evening of March 7 there
will be a public meeting of the Civic
and Library Association to which ev
ery citizen of Kingstree is cordially
invited. This meeting will be held
in the library building, beginning at
7:30 o'clock. The annual election of
officers will take place.
Feeling that every person residing
in Kingstree who feels any interest
in the civic affairs of his or her town
should have some part in the direction
of such matters, the association
urges that every man and woman in
this town become a member of the
Civic and Library Association. Those
who are interested enough to take
an active part will find plenty to do.
while those who have not the time
or desire to become active members
will help greatly by becoming honorary
members.
TVia Knoinooo horptofnrp has been
conducted by the ladies, but we feel
that the male citizens ?hould take an
active part:our constitution includes
both male and female as eligible for
membership.
Some misunderstanding about the
union of the Civic Club and the Library
Association has arisen. We
wish to state that one does not have
to become a member of the Civic and
Library Association to gain access
to the library; any man. woman or
child residing in the town of Kingstree
is welcome to use the library
upon application for membership
cards, which are furnished free to
any who call for them.
Each month there is an increasing
- circulation of books, we are glad to
announce We want the people to
read the book9 and periodicals, and
the Library committee will be only
too glad to get books requested bv
the readers. We ask that you hand
a list of borks you would like to
read to the librarian, who will report
same to us.

are given notice that voting for
amendments to our constitution will
take place at the March meeting announced
above, and are urgently requested
to be present. Also, annua!
dues will then be payable. *
This is no selfish or restrictive or-|
ganization; the sole object is the j
welfare and betterment of our town, i
Come out and show that you are interested
in the civic interest and literary
improvement of your town.
