?About 8 o'clock last evening, crowds
of ladies and gentlemen could he seen
flocking to the Hall of the E. I. II. & L.
Co., to enjoy an hour with the Elliotts and
Young America. At half-past 8. ('apt.
J. (.J. Vosc, called the meeting to order,
and introduced Dr. T. A. Elliott, who
addressed the audience in a most impres
sive manner for a short time. After Jthis,
Capt. .las. Izlar was called upon. He
responded in his usual manner, showing
that the work in which the firemen are
engaged is both a "great ami good"
work. The Company then enjoyed nn
elegant and tempting repast, prepared
under tho auspices of the Elliott Compa
ny. Next in order come music and
dancing, which is still going on as we go
to press.
We regret not being able to give our
readers a more full account of this pleas
ant gathering, but lite lateness of the
our prevents.

son, wns purchased yesterday morning
