' BEIT ORDAINED by the Mayor and i Aldermen of the Town of Lancaster, ' in Council assembled, and by the authority of the same, that the following shall be, and are, the GENERAL ORDINANCES of the Town of Lancaster. CHAPTER I. Ordinances Relating to Peace, Order and ... , Good, Government. PLAYING BALL, KTC. Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person, or persons, to permit, or allow, any mule, horse, cow, hog, sheep or goat to run at large; or to bo tied, or staked so that they can get on any sidewalk or pavement in said town. DUMPING TRASII IN STREETS, ETC. c Section 7. That it shall bo unlaw ful ) for any person, or persons, to throw, 1 dump, sweep, or leave any trash, litter, ^ ashes or refuse, 011 any of the pavements, streets, back lots or ditches of ; the town. That all persons, firms and 11 corporations carrying on business, in said town, are hereby required to put sweepings, trash, paper, ashes, refuse, fi etc. in a barrel or box in rear of their c dwellings, or places of business. The a barrel or box, after having been emp P tied by the street hands must be taken e into the house, or place of business, o near which it is placed. That it shall p be unlawful to throw water, or other ii liquids, on the sidewalks or alleyways c in said town. j INJURING PROPERTY OF TOWN OR PERSON. Section 8. That it shall be unlawful for any person, or persons, to tear up, f or otherwise injure, any sidewalk, foot- o way, pavement or bridge, or causeway, a or place any obstruction on any street, t or to cut or bruise any shade tree, or 1; injure, in any way, any property real '1 or personal, belonging to another or to v the said town. t LOAFING AROUND CHURCHES, KTC. T Section 9. That it shall be unlawful 11 for any person, or persons, to loaf, I1 lounge or loiter near and around any 11 church, within the corporate limits of said town, while divine worship is go ing on in said church ; or to behave in f such a manner as to annoy any person C or persons within such church during such worship. OBSTRUCTING SIDKWAI.KS, KTC. Section 10. That it shall be unlaw j ful for any person, or persons, to use, handle or roll any wheelbarrow, hand j cart, or similar conveyance, or vehicle, . on the sidewalks of said town ; or to roll two or more children's carriages abreast, upon any of the sidewalks of said town. Section 10. That it shall be unlawul for any person, or persons, within he corporate limits of the town of Lancaster, to steal, take and carry iway, the goods, chattels and property >f another, or to assist in so doing, or o receive the same knowing them to >o stolen. That it shall be unlawful to inbezzle, dispose of, or appropriate to lie's own use, money or other person d property of another, when held in a rust capacity. COMPOUNDING LARCENY, ETC. Section 25. That it shall be unlawtil for any person, or persons, to comlound, make up or agree to compound, >r make up anv of the offenses enumer ited in the preceding section. PENALTY. Section.2fi. That any violation of my of the provisions of the two profiling sections, shall be punished by a ine of not less than Five nor more than )no Hundred Doiiars, or by imprisonmnent for not lose than ten nor more han thirty days. That it shall bo unlaw ill for any person, or persons, to make my bet, or wager of money or bet or vager of anvthig of value upon the re>ii 11 of any game or games of any kind >r character whatsoever, such as cards, lice, backgammon, draughts, howls, lilliards, pool, chess, etc , played anyvhero within the corporate limits of .aid town.
