The various packages -composing the shower were then Opened and found to contain ,yards of cloth of various kinds, pillow slips, towels, etc. , The hostess Had invited about 16 guests who came m for the social hour. After their arrival, Mrs. G. C. Matthews proposed that all present go on a nutting party. A merry hunt thi ough the hall and parlor resulted in the finding of quite a number of nuts. When opened some were found to contain, “nutshell news of interest,” others conundrums which occasioned mueh-gtressing before being answered and still others jokes. All, guasts contriouted to the fun of the “nutting party” after which the hostess, assisted by her charming little daughter, Laura and - a few friends served delightful refresh ments. Mrs. W. C. Smith, Jr., left this week for Dothan, Ala., to attend the mar riage of Miss Spann who has quite frequently visited Mrs. Smith. > Mr. and Mrs. Chester Page, of Aiken motored down last Wednesday even ing t6 visit Mr. and Mrs. R.
