wounds In the back caused the deatb
of- Col. 'John M. Cannon, who was
killed at Gray Court several weeks
ago by Jsoeph G. Sullivan, was the
statement of Or. Rogers*- who was the
first witness for the state In the
case against young Sulivan, who was
placed on trial for his life today. The
physician stated later that wound on
the shoulder might haye caused death.
Ile testified that five bullets entered
the body of the dead man, two of
them striking'him lu the back.
